I’m Leslie McDonald… Welcome!
The Why? I come from a family of photographers. As third generation photographer growing up with cameras and going on photoshoots is second nature to me. I have always photographed, I have a NEED to document moments. Back in 2014 I was photographing a Pre Prom when someone in the industry said “Hey you should to get paid for doing this!”
The Education: I graduated with a Bachelors of Art from California State University Fullerton (CSUF) then proceeded to Art Center in Pasadena, California. My photography has always been a staple in my graphic design career. I'm a graduate of New York Institute of Photography (NYIP).
Professional Associations: I'm a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Florida Professional Photographers (FPP), and currently serving as President of the Jacksonville Professional Photographers Guild (JPPG). The education, mentoring and encouragement I have received by being a member of these organizations has truly elevated my technical skill and pushed my creativity.
The Achievements: In 2020 I earned my Craftsman Degree from Professional Photographers of America. In 2019 earned the designation of Certified Professional Photographer (CPP) from Professional Photographers of America. I quickly applied and was accepted as a CCP Liaison. I am excited to help other photographers earn their certification. In 2020 I was awarded the Florida Professional Photography Outstanding Service Award and in 2019 Marjorie Sharpe Service Award from Jacksonville Professional Photography Guild.
The Personal: Matthew Evans and I have been married for twenty five years. We have one daughter named Kaitlin who’s thespian roots gave me the opportunity to photograph local theatre productions, and I loved it. Put me in a dark place with dramatic lighting and I’m a happy girl.
I think I’m hysterical. I love tacos, peanut butter and the crusty outer edges of baked goods. I love all things Disney. I have been fortunate enough to travel to Tahiti, Japan, Canada (does that count?) Mexico, London and Paris. My favorite travel adventure so far has been the Fat Tire Bike Tour through Paris. I highly recommend it.
